I would like to know how to modify knockouts on a standard enclosure as my application’s cable glands are the wrong size?
If you need to reduce the size of a limited number of enclosure knockouts to fit cable glands, the most reliable and cost-efficient solution is to use reducers. In this way, it is possible to maintain a suitable IP rating and keep the enclosure’s functionalities intact.
Spelsberg can supply a wide range of polyamide reducers as accessories to help its customers modify the metric thread size of a given knockout. More precisely, we can handle M16, M20, M25 and M32 metric threads.
If you are interested in this solution or want to learn more about our reducers, our expert salesmen are at your disposal. They can help you identify the best off-the-shelf enclosure type and any accessories for your intended application. You can contact us here: https://www.spelsberg.co.uk/about-us/contact/contact-form/
If the knockouts of a standard enclosure need to be enlarged or you need to modify the entry of a large number of enclosures, the use of reducers is no longer a feasible option. In these cases, a bespoke design would offer a better alternative.
Spelsberg can support you in these situations too. Thanks to our in-house CNC capabilities, our team can promptly design and manufacture high volumes of enclosures with the right entry options to suit your specific cable gland requirements.
