Dear Paul,

Having a ventilation system could be extremely valuable to optimise the operating conditions and service life of the electrical equipment that your enclosure should protect. For example, if the intended application is in a particularly damp environment characterised by highly fluctuating temperatures, I would suggest investing in a solution that can promote air circulation. By doing so, you can reduce the risk of condensation, in line with ingress protection (IP) requirements. Similarly, if the electrical enclosure you need is small and contains many components, having a source of fresh air coming in is quite beneficial to prevent overheating.

The most suitable option for air ventilation within our product portfolio is certainly the AK range, which leverages our registered Air-Technology. This offers a high air exchange rate, together with pressure equalisation, in order to prevent condensation and excessive heat generation. In addition, the system protects circuits from water, dust and foreign particles, in line with IP65 standards.

For additional information on the Air-Technology and our AK range of enclosures, please visit: https://www.spelsberg.co.uk/onepager/ak-the-distribution-board/
While the Air Technology elements are included in any AK enclosure, we are also able to fit these to other products and series, including existing units you may already have. Furthermore, we can develop custom solutions to address your specific needs.

If you have additional questions or would like a bespoke enclosure featuring key air circulation elements, please feel free to send me a private message to discuss the specific requirements of your intended application.

Kind regards,

Chris
