When choosing your enclosure there are two key functions to consider. Your enclosure must protect the equipment it houses, but it must also protect users from direct and indirect electric shocks.

The level of protection you need will depend on the type of switchboard you want to protect and the location. Spelsberg socket housing units have an ingress protection rating of IP44, meaning they protect against solid objects with a diameter of 1mm and against water splashes. Our empty housing offers a protection rating of IP65, preventing dust intrusion and ingress from water jets.

All GTi ISO insulated distribution boxes offer Class II IEC protection which means there is no contact between conductive parts and any protective conductor. All Spelsberg switchgear protects against impact up to a rating of IK08, making them ideal choices for commercial settings and industrial environments.
