Hello,
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is an independent global operator in the field of safety science that offers consultation and ratings on a variety of items, including electrical enclosures. UL standards and certifications are widely adopted in the USA.
The UL standards relevant for electrical enclosures are three: UL 50 “Enclosures for Electrical Equipment, Non-Environmental Considerations”, UL 94 “Standard for Tests for Flammability of Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances”, and UL 746C “Standard for Polymeric Materials – Use in Electrical Equipment Evaluations”.
UL 508 “Standard for Industrial Control Equipment” and UL 508 A “Standard for Industrial Control Panels” also apply. These are comparable with IEC 60947-2, IEC 60947-4-1 and IEC 60204-1, IEC 61439-2 respectively.
Compliance to these UL standards ensures maximum safety of enclosures in terms of electricity, fire protection and sustained functionality.

Spelsberg produces both UL-approved devices and components. The main products with UL certifications are empty enclosures TK PC and TG PC, and AK Air distribution boards. Besides, our company can quickly produce UL-compliant devices to customer order.
In fact, Spelsberg’s state-of-the-art factory in Schalksmühle, Germany, is equipped with a testing laboratory that is certified by UL as fully compliant with the Client Test Data Program (CTDP). This entitles Spelsberg to conduct tests for UL product certification on behalf of UL for customers in the USA, Canada and Europe.
